Burlingame State campgroud The 3,100 acres of rocky woodland belonging to this area surround Watchaug Pond. Rather extensive picnic facilities, 73 fireplaces, toilets, drinking water, swimming beach, bathhouse, boating, and fishing make this one of the most popular state recreation areas. Narragansett Narragansett Town Beach This mile long beach is regarded as having the best surfing in New England due to its smoothly curling waves. There are two modern pavilions with snack bars, changing rooms and rest rooms. Shopping boutiques are in the nearby Pier Marketplace and several restaurants with outdoor decks overlooking the beach and ocean are just a short walk away. Daily parking fee is $6. Daily admission to the beach (ages 12 and up) is $5.
Scarborough State Beach This is a really great beach for all ages with two beautiful pavilions, boardwalk, observation tower and sitting areas along the boardwalk. Picnic tables, concessions, restrooms, and coin operated hot showers. This is the most popular beach in Rhode Island. Lifeguards on duty 9am -6pm. Parking for non-residents is $12. per car on weekdays and $14. on weekends and holidays.
South Kingstown East Matunuck State Beach Noted for its strong surf, this beach sports a futuristic pavilion and a huge parking lot. Westerly Misquamicut State Beach The beach itself is one of the largest in the state. It generally has modest surf and good sand with a gradual drop-off. The eastern end of the beach becomes Atlantic Beach,. Misquamicut has a beautiful recently constructed beach pavilion.
